Built in 1980, The Woolmarket totals 22 shops, showrooms, offices and studios. It was acquired in 1996 by the present owners through the introduction and advice of property consultancy Dreweatt Neate, now merged with Carter Jonas.
The magnificent bronze Ram sculpture by Jill Tweed, commissioned by the owners in 1996 and unveiled by Joanna Trollope in 1997, is mounted on a plinth in the heart of The Woolmarket. As the only statue in the Town, it features regularly in tourist publications.
Improvements have been made to include repaving, a complete redesign of the layout and “flow”, development of a conservatory-style unit for Café Mosaic, planters, tubs, and a plethora of hanging baskets, with trailing ivy.
